Sexy URL API

If you need a URL redirection service integrated into your website - SexyURL provides an API which works with GET and POST methods.

Simpliest method is GET: send a query string with URL encoded like this:

1. http://sl.ly/?module=ShortURL&file=Add&url=

You will be redirected back to SexyURL to retrieve your URL

2. http://sl.ly/?module=ShortURL&file=Add&mode=API&url=

As an answer you'll have a plain text string with a shortened URL - something like this:

http://sl.ly/79f7a5

GET variables allowed:

&go=twitter - Twitter

&go=myspace - MySpace

&go=facebook - Facebook

Redirects user to the selected service with a new SexyURL filled in the forms automatically.

Example: &go=twitter or http://sexyurl.to/?module=ShortURL&file=Add&go=twitter&mode=API&url=

Also you can use the POST method with a link like this:

http://sl.ly/?module=ShortURL&file=Add&mode=API

POST variables:
url - single URL submission
tag - custom tag to use with URL/s (note: if tag is taken - you'll have error message instead of new address)
pass - password (numbers and english letters allowed - but no special symbols)
validTill - link expiration date - format is 2008-12-05 (YYYY-MM-DD = year-month-day)
bulk - bulk URLs (start each from new line)

Absolute Path

Each tag that is created either automatically or custom can be followed by .html for what looks like the full path to a webpage. Example: You create sl.ly/pics and now can use sl.ly/pics or sl.ly/pics.html if needed. Note: You must use .html not .htm
