About Sexy URL

Sexy URL is a short URL redirection service. Take any long URL and create a short Sexy URL that redirects back to that original long URL.

Enter a long URL:

Redirect back to it with a short Sexy URL:

sl.ly/f651fc

You can also make a custom tag:

Absolute Path

Each Sexy URL that is created either automatically or custom can be followed by .html for what looks like the full path to a webpage. Example: You create sl.ly/pics and can now use sl.ly/pics or sl.ly/pics.html if needed. Note: You must use .html not .htm

Tracking

Each Sexy URL that is created either automatically or custom can be followed by a forward slash "/" for tracking purposes or a "#" for hash tag purposes. If you post your Sexy URL on multiple sites you may want to track the hits you get from those sites in you server logs. By adding a /1 or /A to the end of the URL you can easily track exactly where you are getting hits from. For example you create sl.ly/pics and now can use sl.ly/pics/1 and sl.ly/pics/beach or if you want to use a hashtag like this sl.ly/pics#beach you could.

Multiple Domains

Any Sexy URL domain that is available in our drop down list can be used with any Sexy URL tag that is created with our service. For example you visit this site using our SexyURL.to web address and while you are here create SexyURL.to/pics. You can now use any other domain in our list with the "pics" tag. You could use SexyURL.me/pics and SexyURL.us/pics. All tags that are created either automatically or custom can be used with any of our other domains.

You will also be able to use our bop.to and ilink.se domain names. These two domains have their own unique website front ends but they are powered by Sexy URL. Both shortening services include all of the same functionality including our Sexy Search feature. Bop.to besides being short is fun, friendly, and easy to remember. You can make fun and creative custom tags for example bop.to/music or http://bop.to/beach-party. Ilink.se has a professional look and feel that may be used when at the office or when sending to a business partner. Remember that any tag that is created can be used with any other domain name. If you want to resend a Sexy URL link but want to use the bop.to domain instead of a Sexy URL domain you are able to do that.

Preview

To see a preview of the destinaton URL enter a "+" after the Sexy URL and you will will be directed to a preview page where you can see the destination URL and also a screenshot. For example: sl.ly/pics+

Statistics

To see the stats of a Sexy URL enter a "-" after the Sexy URL and you will will be directed to a stats page where you can see the statistics of the URL. You must be the one who created the URL to be able to track it. For example: sl.ly/pics-

Sexy Search

Seach your favorite sites directly from the address bar by adding a "?" to the end of a Sexy URL followed by a search term. For example: sl.ly/google?dating
You will not be able to use the Sexy Search functionality on all Sexy URL's refer to this page for a complete list of sites.

Browser Add-On

If you would like to create Sexy URL's directly from your toolbar drag this SexyURL or SexyTweet (Twitter) link onto your browser's tool bar (Firefox, Chrome & Safari) to add an instant "SexyURL" button.

For IE users you will want to right click on either link and select "Add to Favorites". This will give you an alert message saying this may not be safe due to the code in the shortcut being javascript. Press "Yes" to add it to your favorites. At that point you may want to create a sexy folder to place these links into by selecting "New folder" and typing a friendly name. Then click the "Create" button. All done!!

When you want to create a Sexy URL all you have to do is navigate to the page that has the long URL and click the Sexy URL button on your tool bar or select the Sexy URL link in your favorites. You will either be redirected back to this site to automatically create the tag or you will automatically create the tag and be redirected to Twitter depending on which shortcut you selected.

Other URL Shorteners

While we have no issue with any other URL redirection service, for the Sexy Spy section of our site to be transparent, we cannot have redirections to other URL redirected sites. We would be showing the URL of the next redirection site and not the final destination URL. For this reason we have forbidden the use of many URL redirection services domain names. If we have forbidden your URL redirection service, please understand this is nothing against you or your business.
